Korean Queen & the Holy Ghost Stories Book Cover

Kim Loo, née Ye, is a Canadian nurse and writer who recounts experiences in nursing in Korea, Germany and Canada. Many of the stories tell of the spiritual element of healing and patients and health professionals encountering sickness, death and recovery. While names have been changed to respect personal privacy, these stories are her personal reflections on the humbling and enlightenment aspects of illnesses, including her own personal health journey of kidney and chronic health challenges. About the author: Kim Loo was born in a village near Daegu City, north of Busan on March 29th 1950. She attended three years of nursing college in Daegu City Nursing College and graduated in February 1971. About a year later the German Government hired me as RN Teaching position but when I got there, it was a very different picture and I sought God’s Guidance. Diligently, I tried to learn Jesus’s life and follow the life of The Lord Jesus. I humbled myself. One of those very difficult days. The Holy Ghost came and adopted me as his own. He never left me alone and always there for me. How blessed I was! All I could say is “Thank you Holy Ghost, Lord Jesus and Heavenly Father, Blessed Holy Trinity.” When one working with Holy Ghost nothing is impossible, as I had impressed many others. In the fall of 1972 I met my husband, JR “Jack” Loo. He was in the Canadian Air Force and originally from Hong Kong. I came to Canada in February 29, 1976 to Sudbury Ontario and was married in March 8 1976. We lived in Sudbury, a Canadian mining town in Northern Ontario. The people are rough but friendly. We raised two sons there. I had worked in Extendicare, a seniors’ home. Our house was only five minutes walk from the Extendicare. There was this one private room resident Mrs. Crawford told me. She said, “Kim, you are so loyal, kind and honest if everybody was like you, we wouldn’t need law in our society.” The other residents have had similar comments. All these kind words were treasured in my heart and, I hope, made me a better person and a better member of this society in every way. I became a Canadian Citizen in 1979. I learned to speak five languages. My hobby is gardening and became the best gardener, according to my neighbours. Whoever wishes to learn organic gardening, I will teach them and share my home grown produce with them. The best thing for all of us would be to consume organic food, preferably home grown. and that our health is much better now.
